Every season we see changes in how the biggest stars are wearing their luscious locks – but this season there are a few stand-out hair trends that we are loving here at Davis Feliz Salon! We spoke with our Assistant Manager, Jennie, who gave us the details on the latest looks. From adding a few highlights to rocking the shaggy bang trend, updating your cut or color is a fun and easy way to elevate your look throughout the year.

Shadow Root

You may have heard of the shadow root trend but are a little confused about what it actually is. Well, it’s a way of deepening and softening the roots after highlights to create more of a natural blend. It’s subtle but gives your hair color depth and dimension. This trend is perfect given the current climate because it will grow out gracefully and doesn’t require frequent visits to the salon (as much as we love to see you!). It will globally gloss the hair to a deeper fall blonde. If you love your current color but want to transition into a more cold-weather look, this is the way to go! 

Fringe

Our next favorite is the choppy, piecey bang trend. Bangs don’t have to be scary! Whether you prefer long fringe that accentuates your cheek bones, or you opt for a micro fringe (a more daring, cropped look), there is a style for everyone. We recommend blowing them out with a small or medium round brush for a polished but effortless look. From Kendall Jenner’s shaggy 70’s vibe to Ariana Grande’s chic micro fringe – Hollywood is loving this trend and so are we!

The Lob

Lobs are a hot trend right now, and we believe this style is here to stay. It’s similar to your classic bob, but the length sits at your below your shoulders. This is a versatile cut since you can style it many different ways. Beach waves for an effortless, undone look or wear it sleek and straight. Either way, this timeless yet modern cut will complement your style from your 9am meeting to a dinner date!

Reds

Red hair is having a major moment this upcoming season. While we believe it’s timeless (our very own colorist, Jeannie, even specializes in redheads!), we’re seeing a lot more of it than usual this year. There are many different looks you can achieve with red. Contrary to popular belief, it is customizable for any skin tone. From the softest strawberry to a deep cinnamon that would work better with a darker skin tone, your colorist can create a palette that will work best for you and your personal style.
