How do we do it? Ep. 1 – Blowouts

Blowout

Ever wonder how to get the shine on your hair after a blowout at home? It never seems the same, right? Well, we’re here to help! Davis himself gave us some tips and tricks to get the perfect blowout. Check out the video below to see how it’s done.

First we use Shu Uemura’s Wonder Worker, a heat protectant, misted lightly throughout the hair. Then Pre-dry using fingers to comb through the hair.

Now, bring out the boar bristle brush! We’re opting for a larger brush for more natural subtle movement rather than curls.

Starting at the crown, lift the roots! This will add some volume and dimension to the style.

Next, smooth the hair all the way to the ends, closing the cuticle and adding shine. Tension is important here.

After this, add texture and movement to the hair by wrapping the hair around the brush and setting it with the dryer.

Continue this, repeating the process for each section around the head.

To finish the style, we’ll do make-shift pin curls with our fingers. This is tighter than winding around the brush, but won’t set enough to actually form a curl. This technique creates natural but still finished movement in your hair.

Again, repeat throughout your hair.

And there it is! A beautiful, fresh, and natural blowout!
